2011-13: Consultant to The Asia Foundation as Senior Technical Adviser to the National Committee to Control Human Trafficking (NCCHT) in the Ministry of Women, Children, and Social Welfare, Nepal.

2007–2011: Coordinator of Post Graduate Diploma/Master in Security Management Course in Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM).

1974–2006: Served in police for more than three decades. Retired as Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police. Substantial experience working in armed conflict, policing, and gender issues. He has contributed in establishing Community Police Centres and Women and Children Service Centres in Nepal Police.

1999—2001: Coordinator UNICEF and UK-DFID Police Project.

Consultancy:

Short-term consultancy to UNOHCHR, DFID, IOM, DCAF, GIZ, and UNICEF on the issues of security, justice, and policing.

Fellowship:

Rockefeller Foundation Resident Fellowship in 2009 for Bellagio Study Center, Italy on the theme of Gender-Based Violence, 2009.

Research Fellowship of Social Inclusion Research Fund (SIRF)/SNV Nepal (Netherlands Development Organization) on “Violence against Women and Access to Justice”, 2007-2009.
